CHAPTER 90 - Pleasing the Mother-in-Law

Ella's words.

Morton definitely listened in.

Actually.

Ella has been kind and sincere for so many years.

If it hadn't been for a sudden change in recent times, Morton wouldn't have been half as skeptical when Ella said those things. Now there was also just a little bit of a grudge, but in the end, in their minds, Ella was still the same little girl who was easy to fool, so if they said something naive, they would still be believed.

So, Morton will definitely do what Ella says.

Take a step back.

Morton married Hedy literally to Lucien, favorably.

First, Hedy is getting a bad reputation for hooking up with Lucien behind his back, but if the two fix it, the big deal is to criticize the two for not being honorable enough in their relationship, and not say too much else, and in time, they'll forget about it anyway.

Secondly, Morton has been trying to get in good with THE Williams family for a long time, and tried to get Hedy to outlaw Ella when Ella and Lucien were engaged before, unsuccessfully at that time, so how could he let go of this opportunity now?

Third, once Hedy and Lucien are together, Morton is finally a direct relation on the Big Four, so at least his own daughter, who is the wife of the heir to the Big Four, won't be sarcastically told that he's just a sidekick.

With so many benefits, how could Jack refuse.

It's just that on the surface, not wanting to be seen as such, he purposely didn't take a stance.

Ella doesn't say much either.

Saying it too much makes it sound like there's an ulterior motive.

Though she did have ulterior motives.

After all.

A lot of good for Morton, but half as much for Lucien.

Hedy, a woman of little status, how could Lucien possibly look at her, he was no better, he would not have married the daughter of a side line, even if he was slapped in the face to this point, his heart definitely still wanted to find someone who would help him with his interests, such as Ella, such as Di Jun Yao afterward.

Definitely doesn't look Hedy.

By going and putting Lucien in charge of Hedy, Morton is making a fool of himself, that is, he will be vigorously insulted by the people of the the Williams family, and in doing so, the relationship between the Williams family and Morton, surely, will be pulled apart.

In her last life, Morton colluded with Lucien and secretly did a lot of unseemly deeds to Lucien, which led to the rapid demise of the Ford Group, and in this life, of course, she wants to strangle everything in the cradle.

She didn't move to push the envelope, and at that moment yawned again on purpose, "I haven't slept much in the last two days, and I suddenly feel so sleepy."

Said the man, and leaned intimately toward Eden's body.

It's just a, flabby look of exhaustion.

Originally Ella just wanted an excuse to leave.

There was really no mood to be false with this family, yet the meaning shown was misunderstood by so many people on the scene who had been there before, all of them.

Athena, who already disliked Ella, looking at Ella's sweetness after her new marriage, purposely picks a fight, "Being a daughter, you really are not ashamed of yourself at all! Don't even know where the upbringing goes!"

Ella is baffled.

She yawns, she's uneducated.

Instead, Daisy gave Ella a word at that moment, "Mom, we are all from the past. Newly married young couples, it is inevitable that there will be some love in the depths, we as elders, we have to be more understanding."

"Are you contradicting me now?" Athena blushed for a moment.

After all these years, since Daisy came in the door, never a word back to her, and now she's starting to get a stiff upper lip too isn't she?

Jack took one look at his wife being scared and tried to defend a few things.

Daisy pulled back and said without saying a word, "I just think that between a young couple, there's nothing wrong with being gracious, it's not like it's illegal."

The words were clearly implying something again.

Athena choked again at that moment.

It's all because Hedy, that no-good, did that kind of hurtful thing that she can't talk everywhere now.

If Hedy hadn't grown up around her, she really wouldn't want to take the fall.

Athena said in a nonchalant voice, "It's late, go back!"

Anyway, what was meant to be accomplished was accomplished.

And don't want to stay here much longer, looking at these people adds to the problem.

"Won't Mom stay for a casual dinner?"

"No more food!" Athena said, and huffed.

Morton took Doris with him and naturally followed in stride.

After a while, the house was completely clear.

Daisy was still relieved to see them go, "Finally, they're gone. I was so afraid they'd be here all day and I'd have no peace again."

Said.

It seemed to suddenly occur to me that Eden was still around.

Hastily, he said, "Eden, I'll let you laugh at me on my first day here at home."

"No mom." Eden replied in a huff, sitting squarely and respectfully, doing her job as a good son-in-law.

And that "Mom" is so damn smooth.

"I still have heard about what kind of people Uncle and Grandma are. Mom doesn't have to feel embarrassed, I understand." Eden just keeps giving Daisy steps down.

The attentiveness was clearly and somewhat deliberately ingratiating.

Daisy was instantly impressed with Eden at that moment.

Not that she had any contact with Eden, after all, Ella was flash married.

Instead, because Ella and Lucien's early engagement, so and Lucien contact a lot, not to say that Lucien has any bad, more or less, or can feel, Lucien to her, is not too respectful, usually almost rarely take the initiative will talk to her, rarely will take the initiative to call her.

Not as sweet as Eden.

She was so happy to be called "Mom".

"Didn't you say you were sleepy? Want to go upstairs and get some rest?" Daisy was enthusiastic.

"I'm okay with that." Eden parted with a knowing smile.

How Ella felt Eden's smile was treacherous as she said bluntly, "I'm not sleepy, it was just an excuse for not wanting to see my grandma and my oldest uncle and the rest of them."

"You child." Daisy smiled dotingly.

Distinct smiles that seemed to hide something.

Ella didn't want to go deeper than that, it wasn't like her mom was going to hurt her anyway, and if she had to milk a smile like that, she was sure she'd think about it more.

She had something important to say right now and turned to Jack and said bluntly, "Dad, I want to talk to you about Doris coming into the office tomorrow."

"Didn't you just say yes in a heartbeat?" Jack said, still a little upset, "I was really worried that Doris wouldn't know how to do anything and get the rest of the company talking behind her back."

"She won't so we can find a way to get rid of her, or do you think you could say no to Grandma? It's a waste of time after all."

Jack thought about it.

It was a slightly better mood at that moment.

"However, it's really not a good idea to jump to conclusions on that point as to whether Doris is capable or not."

"What do you mean?" Jack was taken aback.

Ella grimaced.

After all, Doris, in her last life, could really be, well, not simple at all!
