CHAPTER 43 - The Grand Wedding (1) Is Our Promise Still Standing?

A month passed.

In America in Seattle has been buzzing for a long time, and the wedding that has been hyped up by the media, Lucien and Ella's wedding, is happening tomorrow.

Ella lay in bed tossing and turning.

I also had insomnia in my last life.

But for different reasons.

In my last life, I was so excited to hold onto my desire for marriage and love that I couldn't sleep.

My own self in this life is just thinking about how to be foolproof because I'm going to tear Lucien's façade apart in public tomorrow.

Late Night.

The phone suddenly rang.

Ella was startled.

She looked at the caller and her heart seemed to beat a second faster.

She suddenly remembered that in her last life she had gotten a call from Eden at this same point, and at this same point, and at that time he had asked her if she would go with him tomorrow when he came to steal the wedding.

She controls her heart rate and connects, "Eden."

"Is our agreement still in place?" He asked, his tone sober, no emotion audible.

After all, it is no longer the same phrase as in the last life.

Eden, now, wasn't carrying a drunk either.

She said, "Did I say I broke the contract?"

"It's just that Miss Ford has been in the news with First Master Williams this month, taking wedding photos, picking out wedding dresses, and being as sweet as can be, which leads me to believe that Miss Ford just had a brain fart and played a joke on me."

Ella blushed slightly.

You're the one with a brain fart. Your whole family has a brain fart!

Saying something about how she and Lucien are like glue this month.

True.

Preparing for the wedding has been a month and she has really been coping with being busy with the wedding preparations.

And she was only doing this so that Lucien wouldn't get suspicious, or more likely so that Lucien would act a little deeper and disguise himself a little more perfectly; after all, the higher you stand, the more painful the fall will be!

Yet what about Eden?

Ever since she camped out at his house for a night a month ago, she hadn't had any contact with her, and there were even a few times when Ella couldn't help but want to dial Eden and ask him if he'd come on the day of her wedding, and to be honest, she really wasn't sure that he'd show up, as far as the current relationship between her and Eden was concerned.

Still, several times the impulse was all but given up again.

She didn't want to force Eden to work with her in the name of marriage, and as long as he didn't want to, she definitely wasn't forcing it.

And she's figured out that even if Eden doesn't show up tomorrow and exposes Lucien's video, it's just as likely to be Lucien's undoing.

It's just that marrying someone else on the wedding day would have devastated Lucien even more.

The moment.

She waited for a call from Eden after all.

She told Eden with certainty, "Tomorrow only if you come."

"Ella," Eden called her name.

For the first time, calling her name so earnestly.

He said, "Don't you play me."

Ella has yet to answer.

"You can't afford to play!" Eden said in a single word, not even giving Ella a chance to answer.

The phone was slammed off the hook at that moment as well.

Ella looked at the phone a little out of breath.

The End.

Eden didn't give her a precise answer either.

Will it be like the last one ...... He doesn't show up.

......

The next day.

Dawn.

The wedding company's staff had then shown up at Ella's room with all the gear.

Ella gets up in a daze.

She probably just slept for, like, an hour.

Too much to think about to fall asleep.

When I fell asleep, I also had nightmares.

There were too many shadows in her last life, and even how she adjusted her mindset, she still, had trouble letting go.

She washed up and sat down at her vanity.

She couldn't remember exactly what she was in the mood for in her last life when it came to grooming.

For the moment, at least, she was emotionless, and even a little bit disheartened.

It was the thought of seeing Lucien in a few moments that filled her cells with frantic rejection.

Cendy, as a bridesmaid, rushed in about a half hour after she woke up.

It's rare to get up this early, though I'm still late.

She had rushed Cendy many times in her last life, just in case she delayed the good day, and this time she felt that it was fine if she didn't come, it didn't matter anyway.

Instead, Cendy was a little over the top, "Turned off the alarm, just thought I'd let myself get a minute's shut-eye, and just fucking slept for half an hour, and she darted in here without going to the bathroom, not too late, I guess."

"Miss Summer it's okay, the bridesmaid makeup isn't that complicated, it's okay to be a little late, why don't you go to the restroom first, instantly, and wash your face." The staff gently reminded.

"I'll go! You knew I didn't wash my face? It can't be that I have eye boogers!" Cendy mouthed.

Where can the average person see that Cendy is the daughter of a powerful family, or a super powerful family of the ten billion dollar asset kind.

The staff was instantly amused by Cendy.

It also has to be said that Cendy's no-frills approachability keeps everyone from thinking Cendy has a rack.

That's why Cendy has a pretty good reputation in many service industries.

"No, it's that you still have traces of dream drool in the corners of your mouth." The staff hurriedly explained.

"Oh yeah?" Cendy touched the corner of her mouth, "Last night I I was dreaming about gnawing on pig's feet. I went on a diet last night in order to be a bridesmaid today!"

Said the man, running to Ella to show off, "I've sacrificed to this point for you, do you think you love me?"

"Love it, hurry up and get cleaned up." Ella urged.

"Perfunctory." Cendy deflated.

It's not that she's perfunctory.

Rather ...... any sacrifice for her wedding to Lucien would not be worth it!

Cendy went to the bathroom and washed up, and also sat dutifully while the staff did her makeup.

There was occasional banter between Cendy and the staff in the room.

Only Ella.

There really wasn't a single smile.

It was a good thing Cendy was also more big-headed and couldn't notice Ella's emotions, and if she did, she would have decided that she was overly nervous.

Over three hours.

Ella and Cendy's costumes are just about finished.

Cendy looked at Ella's appearance and asked through gritted teeth, "I say Ella, how can such a plain wedding dress look so good on you?!"

Ella looked at herself inside the floor-to-ceiling mirror.

Indeed.

The wedding dress was plain.

Not because she wasn't looking forward to this wedding deliberately, but just because Lucien wasn't that attentive.

At that time, when she went to pick out her wedding dress, because there were too many styles, picking to the back was already dazzling, Lucien had little patience so he randomly picked out a few pieces for her, and it was really exactly the same as the one from her last life.

In her last life Ella was catering to Lucien, so she nodded even if she didn't like it.

In this life Ella just wears whatever she wants because she doesn't care.

However at the moment inside the mirror.

And yet still, I saw a beautiful, beautiful bride.

She's good looking, the kind of good looking anyone would think, and there's absolutely no aesthetic blind spot to be found on her face, just a little bit of dressing up and she's dainty.

So all the praise in the media for her wedding in her last life really had nothing to do with Lucien's so-called "elaborate preparations"!
