CHAPTER 118 - Making an example out of someone
"You seem to know Lucien well?" asked Jonas with a meaningful look on his face.
Eden didn't answer.
"Where do you get the time to get to know this man?" Jonas soul tortured.
Eden still didn't answer.
"Have you had it in your head for a long time that you're going to pry him away." Jonas was suddenly sure.
Eden looked askance at Jonas, "So much for bullshit, just do what I say."
"......" is now tired of his bullshit.
Nor the years when he was fishy.
Who on earth comforted him through it.
......
Ella as soon as she walks out of the hall.
Alfred was already waiting for her at the gate.
"Ma'am, from today, I am your driver and bodyguard and will protect you 24/7." Alfred respectfully.
Ella smiled a little, "Thanks."
Alfred wasn't in much of a mood for her friendliness.
He had a one-cup glance and got into Ella's limo with Ella and went to Ford Tower.
She walked into the office.
Wilson naturally followed her.
There was some eventual surprise when he looked at the man beside her.
Ella said self-consciously, "My personal bodyguard, Alfred."
Wilson was even more surprised.
Do you need to hire a bodyguard when you work in your own home business?
"My secretary, Wilson," Ella introduced, directly ignoring Wilson's surprise.
"Hello." Wilson offered his hand.
It's just basic etiquette in the workplace.
However Alfred simply ignored it.
Just stand there and pretend you didn't see it.
Wilson, who was ultimately a little embarrassed, dropped his hand and turned his eyes to look at Ella, instantly adjusting to his best form as he reported, "The group protest in Sales yesterday has been traced back to the person who led it, the Head of Inventory Analysis in Sales, Lewis."
"Lewis?" murmured Ella, recalling just what this man's presence was.
"He's been in the company for twenty years now, and actually hasn't been doing much, but relying on the fact that he's very old in terms of his qualifications, he doesn't have any regard for people in general. I heard before that when Hedy was around, he would sell Hedy's face and only Hedy's face, even the director of the sales department, he could throw his face whenever he wanted to." Wilson seriously reported, "This time you transferred him to the support center of the sales department, to do the logistics work, and did not let him take up the position of supervisor again, the heart is very dissatisfied, so he instigated a group protest of all the transferred employees."
"Even if he's very senior, he can't have that ability to sway everyone. You just said that he only sells Hedy's face and doesn't even put the director in his eyes, so there's obviously something fishy."
"It's not very fishy, Hedy is a royal relative after all, and the director is just a staff member applying for a job, and anyone who can read faces knows who to please."
"But not without giving the Superintendent face." Ella affirmed.
Wilson nodded thoughtfully.
And it does make some sense.
"Lewis should be related to whoever, among the top leaders." Ella concluded, "He dares to be so wild because he has backing."
Wilson agrees, "Okay, I'll ask around."
"No, I'll just take care of this. I have other jobs for you." Ella said bluntly.
"Yes." Wilson deferred.
"I combed through some of the more difficult sales projects that our sales department has been working on for a while, and I don't want to spend too much time on the ones that are in full swing right now, after all, they don't bring us any more unexpected gains from the Ford Group, and the ones that we need to tackle right now are those adult and old marketing projects. The one that needs to be addressed urgently, in my opinion, is the lousy building in Flower Beach, the One World Tower diversion." Ella handed Wilson a file, "You'll have all the facts about these two projects sorted out within the day, and I'll have a departmental meeting tomorrow morning, at ten o'clock."
"Yes." Wilson nodded and the moment he left asked, "Ms. Ford still black coffee?"
"Thanks." Ella responded, and then asked, "What does Alfred drink?"
"Plain water."
"......" Ella looked up.
"Stay awake and in top physical condition."
Ella sometimes really thought that Alfred was strict in the most perverse way.
Of course, she wasn't going to spoil his routine by turning to Wilson and saying, "Get Alfred a glass of plain water."
"Yes."
Wilson left.
Ella also put herself to work.
She thought about it and dialed a number, "Mr. Campbell."
"Ms. Ford," came the courtesy over there.
"Do you know anything about this Lewis guy?"
"I've heard something."
"Who, again, is he related to the shareholders of our senior leadership's living board of directors?" Ella said bluntly.
Instead of having Wilson spend a lot of time asking around, he should just ask Human Resources.
"Received no news from my side. All I know is that he has a bad personality and doesn't take anyone too seriously."
"But he'll listen to Hedy."
"So you suspect that Lewis is connected to whichever executives are involved, and that the executives are socializing with VP Ann?" Alex immediately understood what Ella meant.
"Right."
"I may need time to check." Alex said.
"No need." Ella refused again.
She's only looking for Alex because he might know the inside story, and if he does, he doesn't have to waste his energy, but if he doesn't, she's not going to waste his time.
She said bluntly, "What would happen if I just fired him?"
"...... You just got to work?" Apparently, Alex didn't quite agree.
Even thought Ella's offer was too bold.
Firing an employee without a valid reason is really great for the company's reputation.
"Can you think of a more direct and better way to get everyone to follow our personnel mobilization arrangements?"
"Not for a while." Alex had to admit.
"That's why you can only make an example of them."
"The way to make an example of a chicken, use it well and it's a book, use it badly and it's ...... a crime for the ages." Alex reminded.
"I know." Ella was clear and unambiguous, "I know what I'm doing."
"I will certainly support it with all my might." Alex naturally had no choice but to follow the arrangements.
"In half an hour, you send out the news that you're firing Lewis, and I want it spread all over the company."
"Good."
The explanation was complete, and Ella said no more.
She put down her cell phone and went back to work.
An hour later.
Maybe less than an hour.
The door to the room was violently pushed open.
Ella's eyes twitched slightly as she looked up and saw an enraged Lewis.
"What gives you the right to sack me! Without any reason, what gives you the right to dismiss me! I've been working for twenty years, and you're just going to chuck me out when you say so? If you don't give me a reason today, I will definitely not let you take a step out of this office today!"
A hideous, horrible look, with every word a threat.
Ella was suddenly glad now that she had accepted the bodyguard Eden had arranged.
She saw in this moment that Alfred had stepped up to Lewis' side, so that he could tackle Lewis immediately should he make any move!
And that's why.
Ella can be so reckless and overbearing, "I'm the Missy of the Ford Group, and if I don't like the people I see, of course I can quit if I want to!"
