Chapter 1: Reborn in Nirvana

Ella Ford was reborn.

Now, she was back at her wedding ten years ago, and she was deciding to abandon her groom and all of the guests. Instead, she'd run away with the powerful man who came to crash the ceremony.

When she died in her past life, her wonderful husband Lucien Williams – adored by all who knew him – stabbed a dagger into her heart. He said, "I never loved you, Ella. And I can't even pretend to like your body either. Do you know how much better Mary is? She is a goddess in the bed compared to you. You might as well be a corpse with how cold and stiff you always are."

Cold and stiff?

Ella didn't cry or scream. Having been brought up to be a well-mannered and modest young woman, she silently endured the pain tearing through her heart.

"Don't you love me, Ella?" Lucien snarls. "If you love me, then die. You'd be doing Mary and me a favor." He punctuated his vile words by yanking the blade from her heart, splattering her blood across his handsome face. The gruesome stains revealed him as the ruthless monster he really was.

Even then, he smiled dreamily, as if the woman he'd just murdered wasn't his precious doting wife he'd spent the past ten years with.

Ella kept her eyes open until her last breath, vowing to return every ounce of Lucien's cruelty. She'd carve it into his bones if she had to!

All of this after ten years…

He was her childhood sweetheart – her perfect match.

Ella grew up talented, her skills ranging from piano to chess to calligraphy and painting. After she married Lucien at the age of 22, she took her precious talents with her and became the best wife she could. She gave up everything she had to serve him and did everything in her power to help him become successful. Without her, he never would've become as wealthy as he was.

Not once did she imagine that one day, Lucien would murder her with his own two hands. He destroyed her family's legacy just to appease his mistress.

Ella hated that woman to her core…

But fortunately, God was on her side.

After the car crash, she awoke in the body of her 22-year-old self before she had married Lucien.

Ella bit her lip hard as she watched the man in front of her who had just crashed into her car. He was Eden Dillon, head of one of America's most powerful families, and its third young master.

His stunning face could turn the world upside down. Standing at 6'2", Eden had the body sculpted by angels. He was easily the most handsome man in Seattle.

He was also the most infamous man in Seattle. He was known for his flirtatious personality and loveless flings. Every woman he'd been with called him the most amazing man they'd seen. To top it off, he lived with more extravagance and shameless indulgence to the point where Heaven was a lost cause. Still, he lived his life to the fullest. He knew how to fight, too. If anyone had a problem with him, there was nothing they could do about it.

"Is that Ms. Ford staring at me?" He smirks when he notices her gaze, his deep eyes flicking up to her face. His magnetic, melodious voice was irresistible. Every word that left his lips was delicious…

"Yes," Ella blurts, startled out of her reverie.

Her words hung in the air for a moment.

Instead of Eden, it was her best friend, Cendy Summer, who berated her for her attitude. She shook as if she was on the verge of exploding. "Ella, what the hell if wrong with you?! Did you hit your head?!"

Eden's eyes flashed with an invisible trace of affection, and he quickly suppressed it behind a cold smile.

"Do you know who that demon is? He's scum!" Cendy shouted at Ella, "All he knows is looking good and stealing women, and you're actually saying that you were checking him out?! Did you suddenly go blind?!"

Ella laughed to herself. She certainly was blind if she fell in love with Lucien, that conniving hypocrite!

This morning, they went to Kingtin Mountain to pray for blessings. On the way down, there was a head-on collision with a fast red sports car. Luckily, the person driving the sports car reacted quickly, making a sharp turn to avoid a frontal impact. Still, they crashed.

The sides of the cars were damaged, but none of the passengers were injured.

And as a result, she was reborn!

Ella didn't answer Cendy. Instead, she turned to Eden and asked, "You should come to my wedding."

"Ella!" Cendy's whole body trembled with rage. Yes, Eden was very handsome. Was Ella really going to throw away her engagement for a playboy?

"The ceremony is on the 18th of next month. Will I see you there?" Ella's voice was steady.

Eden took a few seconds to digest what Ella said.

Slowly, he said in an indifferent tone, "Ms. Ford… Maybe you got a little shaken up in the crash. You should see a doctor, you might be concussed."

Then he took a credit card out of his slacks and held it out to her between two of his slender fingers. His expression was calm, "I'll pay for it if it isn't covered.

Ella glanced down at the black card, a symbol of his elite position in society.

Everyone knew the third Dillon son to be generous – every woman who pined for him was all spoiled – and so Ella took it.

Eden's eyes flickered with surprise.

Everyone in Seattle knew Ella to be virtuous. She was refined and intelligent. She was reserved. She was never even seen with another man who wasn't her soon-to-be husband. Everyone who knew her knew that her single goal was to marry Lucien and be the perfect wife and mother in his family.

Ella said, "Consider it a wedding gift."

Cendy's eyes nearly bugged out of her head.

Eden pursed his perfect lips, holding back a smile, and chose to stay silent. He didn't want to show his emotions yet.

She wasn't exactly showing interest in him, so he'll just have to wait and see.

"If you come to my wedding, I'll leave with you," Ella said.

In truth, she was answering his proposition from her past life.

Back then, on the night before her wedding, she was so excited that she couldn't sleep. At 4am, she received an unfamiliar call.

"I'm gonna crash your wedding tomorrow," a deep voice said. "Will you leave with me?"

Ella frowned, "Who is this?"

"Lucien doesn't deserve you," he said.

"Who the hell is this?!"

"But I'm no saint either."

With that, he'd hung up.

Ella initially thought it was a prank call since the person clearly sounded drunk, so she didn't take it personally. Later though, she discovered that the phone number belonged to Eden, but even after finding out, she didn't dwell on it. She'd never paid attention to playboys like him, and she'd never even met Eden before.

Until now.

Reborn, she found herself in a trance as she reflected on Eden's drunken call.

He never did show up at her wedding, so she wasn't sure if he meant a word he said, but still…

Whether Eden came or not, she would not be marrying Lucien again.

Attending the wedding at all was just one step in getting her revenge on him!

Ella let her words linger in the air for Eden to consider, then she turned around and left.

Cendy hurriedly followed in Ella's footsteps as well, getting back into their limo.

Eden watched her through the window as the limo drove past him, and he made no attempt to hide his leer.

Every man in Seattle wanted to marry into the Ford family, and if Ella wasn't as loyal to Lucien as she was made out to be…

This certainly was interesting.

Meanwhile, in the limo…

Cendy couldn't calm down, "Are you drunk? Why'd you tell Eden to crash your wedding?!?

"I'm perfectly sober," Ella said calmly as she drove.

Not only was she sober, but she was more cold-blooded than before. Just seconds prior to waking up after the car accident, she was steeling herself against Lucien's torture.

"But what about Lucien? You two are America's sweethearts! I don't know how many times you've thought about it, but are you actually – seriously – thinking about cheating on him? Right before you're married? Does Lucien mean anything to you?" Cendy couldn't wrap her head around it.

Cheating before being married…

Ella sneered.

She'd seen Lucien naked, tangled up with another woman well after he became her husband.

Gritting her teeth, Ella spits, "Lucien is a dog!"

He doesn't even deserve to be called human!
